Edit on your iPhone. Publish everywhere.
Melies is an iPhone app for video creators. You edit and render your videos on the phone, and Melies publishes them, now or at the time you choose, to the TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook accounts you connect.
The name is a tribute to Georges Méliès, the filmmaker who wrote, shot, acted in and edited his own films.
What Melies does
- On-device editing. Import clips from your photo library, cut, reorder, add text, subtitles, music, sound effects, transitions and animations. Vertical 9:16 (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) or horizontal 16:9 (YouTube).
- On-device rendering. The final MP4 is produced by your iPhone with Apple's AVFoundation and Core Image and saved to your camera roll.
- On-device transcription. Subtitles and edit-by-text use Apple's speech recognition on the iPhone.
- An editing assistant. You can ask the built-in assistant, by text or voice, to make edits for you. It receives a text description of your timeline, never your video.
- Clips from long videos and live streams. Find the best moments of a long recording and turn them into short clips.
- Scheduled publishing. Choose the accounts, write the caption, pick a date and time, review exactly what each network will show, and Melies posts it. You can see the result of each post, with a link, in the app.
- Live-stream planning (Kick). Plan a stream, set its title and category on Kick, and prepare the announcements you approve.
Your content stays yours
Videos are edited and rendered on your phone. Our server never stores your videos: when you schedule a post, the file waits on the server only until it is delivered to the networks you chose, and is deleted as soon as the last one confirms, when you cancel, or 48 hours after the scheduled time, whichever comes first. Melies only posts to accounts you connect, and only what you approve. You can disconnect any account at any time.
